To strengthen fire safety management within the factory and improve employees’ emergency response capabilities, Anshun Jinpeng Shoes Co., Ltd. specially invited officers from Xixiu District Fire and Rescue Brigade to our plant on July 21, organizing a full-scale live fire emergency drill for all staff.
Taking full account of the shoe manufacturing industry’s high fire risks such as flammable fabrics and adhesives, the drill consists of three major parts: fire safety knowledge training, live fire-extinguishing practice and staff emergency evacuation exercise. Combined with typical factory fire accident cases, firefighters explained fire hazard inspection, fire escape skills and the four-step operation method for dry powder fire extinguishers: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep.
A real simulated burning area was set up on site. Employees from different departments took turns putting out open flames with dry powder extinguishers, while firefighters provided one-on-one guidance and corrected improper operations throughout the whole process. Meanwhile, a full-staff evacuation drill was carried out. Simulating a sudden workshop fire, employees evacuated orderly with bodies bent and noses covered. Each team counted its members and reported the situation completely. A fire engine stood by at the scene to fully reproduce the whole process of enterprise fire emergency disposal.
During the post-drill review session, instructors from the fire brigade commented on the drill’s performance, and put forward rectification plans and long-term management suggestions targeting high-risk factors including raw material storage and workshop electricity consumption in shoe factories. The company’s safety manager stated that the enterprise will maintain regular cooperation with Xixiu District Fire and Rescue Brigade, organize fire training and drills on a routine basis, strictly implement daily safety patrols, integrate fire safety into every production procedure, and safeguard employees’ lives as well as the company’s property.
Safety is of utmost importance, and prevention is the top priority. This joint drill has effectively improved all employees’ practical fire-fighting skills and upgraded the company’s emergency rescue system.
